HCARC Radio Nets

The HCARC Meets on the air every Tuesday night at 8:00 pm on the club repeater.  WA5EC  146.70.   (tone: 123.0).

Exception is every second Tuesday of the month the HCARC meets in the Conference/Training Room at the Houston County EOC at 7:00 pm

Procedure:

The Net Control Operator will activate the net at exactly 8:00 pm local time.

  • He will call for emergency traffic ONLY for first check-in
  • Then mobile stations or stations that have short durability.
  • Then any other stations.
  • Remember, emergency traffic ALWAYS has priority over any other traffic.
  • Even if you don't have any traffic for the net, please check in anyway so that we know that you are there and accounted.

Immediately after the 2 meter Net on 146.70, the HF (high frequency) Net will be announced.  The frequency will vary due to HF band conditions at the time.  The HF Net will be in the General License Class portion of the HF band.

Even if you are a Technician Class License, we encourage you to tune in to the HCARC HF Net frequency and monitor the net.  The discussion is less formal and usually longer in duration.  Typical QSO can be of ham radio technical subjects and one can always learn something new.

Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question.  HCARC members are always willing to help.  If they don't have the answer then they will try and find someone that does.  So, don't be timid about asking.
